Jay: Week 5

Friday February 17th was the last day that I was at Jay. On this day I was helping work the Lifts and tram. I started off working the Flyer in the morning then i was moved to the tram in the afternoon. The guys that were working the lifts showed me how to run the lifts and also how to use the new RFID card reader. When I went to work at the tram they showed me how everything works and what all of the dials ment. after they showed me how everything works they let me run the tram for a little while before I had to leave.

Jay: Week 4

On the friday of week 4 at Jay peak I was helping work the Tram Haus Lodge. I was working closely with Blake, an LSC student that is doing his internship at Jay. While working with Blake I was helping out with the phones and I also got to see how to check-in and check-out guests. The next day I was working in the new Water Park that jay just had built. I was following the person in charge of the life guards for most of the day, but they also had me pulling out tubes from the lazy river. they showed me where all of the pumps are for all of the water features and where they make their own chlorine for the pools. Near the end of the day I ended up falling on one of the walk ways and ended up fracturing my toe.

Jay: Week 3

This last weekend at Jay was pretty fun, on Friday we helped with the unloading of 600 Canadians in the morning then we got to ski for the rest of the day. on Saturday I was working with Guest Services, and it got pretty hectic in there. After I worked with Guest services I got to work with Food and Beverage, when i showed up there they immediately put me behind the grill of the cafeteria because they couldn't keep up with the crowds that were coming in. i was talking to one of the cooks and he said "this is the busiest I've ever seen it while I've been working."

Jay: Week 1

At Jay I got to ski with the ski patrol for the first half of the day which was awesome. The ski patrol does not do much with the sustainability of the mountain but they do have to do with the service and safety of the mountain by helping people that have gotten injured or have gotten lost on the mountain. During the after noon I was with Ski School and they have a minimal part on the Sustainability of the mountain but they have a part on the snow and lifts aspect of it. Their main focus is the service of the customers and the safety of their customers that want lessons. The ski patrol supports the customer by helping them with anything that they need on the hill, the ski school supports the customer by giving them the best lessons that they offer. The Ski patrol helps the employees with helping them with problems that they have, the ski school helps the employees by being friendly. Ski patrollers benefit the the owner by making sure that the mountain is safe  for everyone, the ski school helps out the owner by making sure that the customers get the best lessons that they can get.
